When the lightning strikes and the winds they blow, and then the tide rises up the side of where the waters flow.

Forgive us mother, you know we won’t forget you, under a blanket in a wheelchair outside the Superdome. The tides will wash away the ones who left you, and this whole town of New Orleans will be your memorial.

So many years, they’ve been out to get you, because they live at the top of the hill and you’re down below, you say you will rise up from the ashes, but how do you keep the fire going where the water flows.
